JBORG Review 3

Bristol Orthopaedic Registrars' Group

About This Project

The Bristol Orthopaedic Registrars’ Group is composed of orthopaedic surgeons training in the Severn Deanery rotation. It represents the opinions and interests of its members in aspects relating to education and training.

JBORG is BORG’s acclaimed annual journal which encompasses trainee achievements and articles of interest within the orthopaedic community.

BORG asked me to design and publish the journal, wanting a clean, less-cluttered look and feel. I also created guidelines and style sheets that could be used in future editions.

Additional responsibilities included budgeting and costing, defining timeframes and managing schedules, advising editors and contributors on content and imagery, art direction and managing print productions.

During my time with JBORG, I was fortunate to collaborate with some great people and organisations. The Royal Collection Trust granted me access to Leonardo da Vinci’s Anatomical Drawings from the Royal Library. The Anatomy Department at Bristol University authorised a photoshoot of Alfred, Bristol’s iconic gorilla and inspiration for the WOW! Gorillas campaign and Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal were kind enough to supply images from the Gromit Unleashed campaign. A special thanks to everyone involved!
